Commercial window replacement carried out in the communal apartment blocks in Bishop’s Stortford.
Misty Glaze were contracted to provide commercial double glazed glass unit replacements, for the popular Warwick Estates company in Hertfordshire.
Warwick Estates carried out a full company assessment over a period of 3 months, before hiring Misty Glaze to carry out the work on this complex glazing project. The approved contractor status was granted and the purchase order was sent.
Full risk assessments and method statements are carefully prepared and planned for every commercial glass replacement project.
We were honoured to have been chosen by Warwick Estates to work on their behalf to restore the communal area windows that had misted double glazing. A total of 37 misted double glazed units within the two apartment blocks. We carried out a full site survey to assess the misted window panes, which included checking the working heights, glass specifications and a health and safety assessment of the building.
A scaffolding tower was needed to help us with the second floor units, as the existing glass units were externally beaded and glazed from the outside.
On completion of the full site survey, we arranged 37 replacement glass window panels to be manufactured and delivered within 7 days to our workshop and Headquarters in High Ongar.
All commercial double glazed units were clear toughened safety glass with argon gas.
Loss of light is a noticeable and common effect of misted up windows, and this apartment building was a prime example of how it effects double glazing window panes. Once the misted windows were replaced with new crystal clear glass units, the difference in light transmission was very noticeable. rewarding for us to achieve these results by replacing the misty panes, without costly frame replacements.
